Evidence

Evidence law governs (1) how parties present various forms of proof in a legal proceeding, and (2) how judges and juries evaluate that proof.  Evidence law varies depending on what court you are in.  Federal courts follow the Federal Rules of Evidence.  State courts follow the rules of evidence of the state where they reside.
